Qualifications:
Candidates are required to:
(1) Those who hold a doctorate degree or an equivalent degree by September 30, 2024.
(2) Those who demonstrate ability to carry out excellent research works listed above in tight collaboration with relevant researchers in the department.
(3) Those who have an ability to take charge of exercises and major subjects of the undergraduate and graduate courses in close cooperation with related faculty members in the department.
(4) Those who have sufficient teaching skills in English.
(5) Those who take part in regional activities such as industry support and university-high school collaboration.
(6) Those who demonstrate strong commitments to the faculty management.
(7) Those who understand Japanese culture, history, and customs, and demonstrate ability to mentor students, especially Japanese students.
(8) Those who move to and live in Matsue city or neighboring area after the employment.
(9) Those who align oneself with the Shimane University Charter.

Selection process:
In the selection process, the ability and aptitude to conduct independent research and education, in close cooperation with the faculty members of the department, will be evaluated.
1st stage screening: Document evaluation.
2nd stage screening: Research presentation (in English or Japanese) and interview at Matsue Campus of Shimane University (in English or Japanese). Simulated trial lesson might be required.

(5) Employment status: Discretionary labor system shall be applied after obtaining consent (Deemed working hours per day: 7 hours 45 minutes).
